Plymouth office interior refurbishment

After a successful completion of their Northampton office – HSE working with Carillion asked us back to refurbish the Plymouth Branch of the HSE.

The project included; stripping out of all existing offices, meeting rooms, kitchen, and shower areas. Refitting using existing materials where possible and new as necessary.

A major requirement for the HSE is sound reduction across offices. We installed sound barriers above and below and inside all walls, and where higher sound reduction was required, Acoustic glass was installed.

A new kitchen, first aid room, meeting / conference rooms, locker rooms where installed.

New carpet and vinyl to wet areas, repairing / replacing of ceilings. Redecoration throughout – paint all woodwork, vinyl all office partitions and re paint all base build.

Electrical works included wiring of new floor boxes, new kitchen. Mechanical included new AC to 5 areas, new ventilation to all offices and meeting rooms, and water and pumped wastes to all kitchen areas.

This was a complex project due to the fact that it is a long thin office, so very tight on space. The client was in occupation throughout the office refurbishment, and bearing in mind the client [HSE] – they are quite hot on Health & Safety issues! We completed this project with no problems, and with very satisfied clients. All our construction staff had to be acutely aware of maintaining H&S at all times, especially due to the fact that a member of HSE staff was registered blind, and a route through or work area had to be available. We had no complaints and in fact the HSE staff provided a buffet lunch for us when we finished to thank us for our hard work and accommodating attitude. This project was probably one of our most complicated in terms of space, programming and distance from home – but it also was one of our most successful.
